The Cabin

The Winona Farm is dedicated to permanently preserving a unique portion of East Burn's Valley for educational, recreational and environmentally restorative purposes. We would like to invite you to enjoy a restful break in one of our "Country Cabins on The Winona Farm".

If you are looking for a quiet get-away you need look no further. In our cabins you will find peace and seclusion conveniently located only 3 miles from the center of town. Woods that effectively block out the rest of the world surround both cabins. Hiking trails are directly in front of the door to your cabin and will lead you on a relaxing walk with nature.

Both cabins are available for your year round enjoyment, they have air-conditioning available in Summer and are heated in Winter. For a nostalgic atmosphere both cabins are equipped with glass fronted wood stoves. There is something for almost everyone in any season and ideal for a couple, families, groups or singles. The smaller cabin overlooks beautiful East Burn's Valley and is popular with couples wanting a romantic get-away. The large cabin is just above the junction of two trout streams and is often used as a venue for family reunions.

The first picture shows the cabin highlighted by the beautiful green of Summer. Then just a few months later, with the ground and trees blanketed by a fresh snowfall.

This photo shows just how close to town we are, toward the top you can see Winona nestled in between the Mississippi River and Lake Winona. The West end of the lake is obscured by hills and just on this side of the hills you can clearly see Highway 43. The bottom third of the picture is mostly The Winona Farm. The road at the bottom right of the picture is East Burn's Valley Road, it cuts through the farm. Just to the left of where the road disappears into trees is the farmhouse... a little difficult to see because of the beautiful old maple trees.

Just inside the door, on the first floor in the bathroom with the kitchen to the left. Still on the same level are two chairs and a sofa facing a glass fronted wood stove.

Behind the kitchen is the bedroom. Looking to the second level from the sofa.

A raised area with sofas and lounge chairs facing a glass fronted wood stove. The loft is a favorite place for children, it has a king size mattress and four singles.
